2020 AICP Exam Fee Reimbursements

For the November 2021 Exam:

The American Institute of Certified Planners and the APA Nebraska Chapter encourage those with financial hardships to become AICP members by taking advantage of the AICP Exam Fee Reimbursement Program. This program offers assistance to those individuals who may defer taking or are unable to take the AICP exam because of the high cost.

Applications will be accepted anytime through May 28th, 2021 for the November 2021 testing window. Applicants selected to receive the reimbursements will be notified within one week of application submission.

Reimbursement Amounts:

  • $350 for Traditional AICP Exam Applicants
  • $85 for AICP Candidate Pilot Program Participants

Applicants must be eligible to take the exam. Applicants must email a letter explaining the financial hardship (including financial hardship caused by a budget cutback in a firm or agency), which necessitated the request to rouseplanning@gmail.com. The letter should be no more than two (2) pages and need to include the applicant’s APA membership identification number. Applicants must also verify if they are a traditional AICP Exam applicant or an AICP Candidate Pilot Program participant.

Preference is given to:

  • Applicants who otherwise will be unlikely to take the exam without the reimbursement;
  • Applicants whose employer will not subsidized the exam fee; or
  • Members of ethnic or racial minorities.

Study Material Reimbursement

In addition to the exam fee reimbursement, the Nebraska Chapter offers a reimbursement for study materials. To apply for this reimbursement email the chapter PDO officer at rouseplanning@gmail.com with your request which includes the material, cost, and copy of acceptance letter to take the exam.
