APA Nebraska hosts an annual one-day workshop in the Fall to provide an opportunity for a deep-dive into one planning topic, project, or initiative. Past Events

The 2025 Fall Workshop took place in Lincoln on October 2nd. The day began with a presentation on Project O Street and parking management, followed by a guided walking tour of downtown Lincoln and a visit to the Parking Command Center. Attendees enjoyed lunch before participating in a live Paved Paradise podcast interview. The afternoon continued with a presentation on downtown Lincoln redevelopment and concluded with a keynote address from author Henry Graber. The event wrapped up with a reception at Olsson’s rooftop deck.

The 2024 workshop highlighted the long-term vision and ongoing transformation of the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area Urban Core and the many planning, redevelopment, and quality-of-life improvement efforts at work. This workshop included a walking tour of the Omaha RiverFront including Gene Leahy Mall, Heartland of America Park, and Lewis and Clark Landing. It concluded with a reception at the Hot Shops Art Center.

The 2023 event included a one-day workshop and walking tour of the Antelope Valley Parkway & Telegraph District redevelopments in the City of Lincoln. This workshop explored the many disciplines of urban planning as they relate to the redevelopments, including transportation, housing, environmental/stormwater and resiliency planning, economic development, landscape architecture and urban design, and more.
