Great Places in Nebraska

Historic Haymarket: Lincoln, NE

About

In addition to National APA's Great Places Program, the Chapter manages the Great Places in Nebraska program which accepts new nominations between mid-November and January 31st. The goal of the award is to recognize some of the outstanding locations across the state. Nominees may include great neighborhoods, great streets or great areas within a community. The NE‐APA will be accepting nominations for the award beginning in November.

The Great Place’s award will have two recipients, recognizing both an urban and rural community. For the award urban is defined as a community of more than 5,000 residents and rural a community of fewer than 5,000 residents. Nominations may include (but is not limited to) great street, great neighborhoods, great parks, or great districts within the community. The Great Places in Nebraska reflects a national program, Great Places in America. In the past Great Places in America have recognized Lincoln’s trail network, the Haymarket, the Dundee‐Memorial Park area and the South 24th Street area in Omaha.
